As Christians, we must make time for God. It’s like with our friends… if we don’t make time for them, we aren’t really friends.

If God is our friend, our best friend, we should always give Him our best.

God always gives us His best, so we should give Him ours.

Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, points to two Bible passages to make this point, Psalm 46:10a and Psalm 25:14, with both of them relating to a close friendship with God.

“Be still, and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10a

It’s not enough to just “go to church.” You’ll never know God intimately if all you do is just attend church services. You’ve got to read God’s Word and talk to Him, really talk to him. Ask Him if He has something that He wants you to hear. Then just be quiet and listen for Him.

There are many devotionals you may want to use for your time with God. You can find them at any Christian Book store. Or you can use your Bible. Whatever works for you, do it!

I must admit I was lacking in this area not so long ago. But taking time with God is something I now look forward to. My time with Him calms me and rests my mind.

It’s possible to have a close relationship and friendship with God, but you must believe in Him and be willing to live by and within His will.91.3 KGLY East Texas Christian Radio Having a Close Relationship with God Heard On Air Blog

God has unconditional love for us. In fact, His love for us is so deep that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for our sins. God’s love is constant. But in order to know His love, you have to reach out to Him.

It’s okay if you don’t always feel Him or hear Him speak. He is there and hears you. I hope you dedicate time to spend with the Father, because you will feel His love and peace.

God bless you!

“A relationship with God exists between Him and those who revere Him,” Psalm 25:14
