I was packing for a trip getting the basics in the suitcase, so the “necessities” would be ready and all I’d have to do is choose the clothes and packing would be completed.
It made me think that we do this throughout our lifetime. We carry around emotional mental and spiritual luggage that we then have to lug around wherever we go. There are times in life when we will stand in a long line staring at a luggage carousel waiting for all of that “stuff” from our past to slide down so we can drag it around again.
In Philippians 3:13 Paul tells us to leave what is behind. He does this because it gives us the freedom to move forward to our goal. We can get to where we need to go because we’ve lightened our load.
Here’s to losing our luggage, for good!
