Samaritan’s Purse is in Iraq ministering to families there and they shared an encouraging story on their Facebook page: A team member was talking to a displaced Muslim family and they asked why they are helping. The team member shared the story of the Good Samaritan and the father told him, “And you, a Christian, are the Good Samaritan, and you are caring for us as we all go through this together.” The ministry says “centuries-old barriers of suspicion and distrust are breaking down.” I tell ya, that is so encouraging to hear that they are making a difference during such a terrible time and pointing the world to Jesus.

Samaritan’s Purse is providing food, water, stoves, mattresses, and other relief in Jesus’ Name to displaced families in multiple locations in northern Iraq. Many had only minutes to decide to flee from advancing ISIS militants.
